DATSIK bounced in the shadows of the stage, behind his decks dealing out one aggressive tune after another. Further in however the energy was palpable. A large number of guests stood awkwardly around the busy venue, as they tried to figure out what they were listening to. Upon entering the O2 Academy Bournemouth, the effect of his heavier style was immediately apparent. Supporting Flux Pavilion, was Canadian producer DATSIK, most well known for his hardcore dubstep tracks. The tour marks the end of an eventful year for the artist, having released two EPs, Blow The Roof, and Freeway.

Kaleidoscope is also passionate about raising awareness of the mental health of musicians and has recorded tributes to Avicii, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and Keith Flint of The Prodigy. Due to the success of these videos Kaleidoscope has worked with some influential brands and artists such as Cream, Gatecrasher, Flux Pavilion, and CamelPhat These include reinterpretations of music by Flux Pavilion, Major Lazer, Pendulum, Etherwood and Netsky, all endorsed by the artists themselves. The orchestra comprises a mix of young music professionals based mainly in Manchester and London.Īfter a viral hit with their Skrillex Orchestral Suite (arranged and orchestrated by Steve Pycroft), Kaleidoscope quickly gained a following on YouTube, racking up hundreds of thousands of hits on their orchestral suites.
Set up in 2011, Kaleidoscope was the brainchild of two Manchester University graduates, Steve Pycroft and David Tagg-Oram. Drum n bass, dance, trance, grime and dubstep as you've never heard it before: Kaleidoscope uses classical instruments to play non-classical music in new and innovative ways. Kaleidoscope Orchestra is a musical collective whose mission is to bridge the gap between musical genres.
